The Ultimate Travel Guide
FROM MOTHER TO MOTHER-IN-LAW:
NAVIGATING THE JOURNEY Part 4

2015

YOUR FELLOW TRAVELERS - THE "TOUR GROUP"

This is an opportunity to bond with your child, members of both families and friends old and new. Thoughtfulness, empathy and a sense of "Esprit de Corps" should be practiced by all concerned. You are a Group on the same Journey experiencing an Adventure together. Inclusiveness in sharing this is a fabulous precedent to set. This is about a collection of opinions and talents reflecting the Bride's and Groom's Wedding Vision and bringing it to life rather than any territorial considerations of "right" or "wrong."

Special care and consideration of the Groom, the FOB and the FOG, where applicable, bodes well in myriad ways. Their feelings and thoughts and expectations may be somewhat less obvious...but are no less important. Here are few suggestions:

•Be receptive to the part they wish to play in the Wedding Planning Process.
•Request their input during the entire Wedding Planning Process and include details special to them.
•Carefully listen to their ideas and understand that they reflect concepts and priorities that they consider to be important.

Communication is, as always, key to a successful Journey and to arriving safely and happily at the Final Destination (a.k.a. The Wedding Day)! Keeping in touch can be such a positive component through 24/7 voicemail, email, texting and conversation; however, be aware the there is one and only one chance to to have your message correctly received. Words may never be taken back. Especially on this Journey, always think before you speak...virtually or otherwise.
